Boston Red Sox at Houston Astros
Sunday, June 3rd, 2018, Minute Maid Park
SP: Porcello (BOS) vs. Morton (HOU)
On Sunday evening, the Boston Red Sox and Houston Astros will wrap up their four-game series with a nationally-televised game at Minute Maid Park. First pitch is set for 7:30 P.M ET and can be seen on ESPN.
Red Sox Slightly Behind Yanks
Despite their 40-19 record, the Boston Red Sox still are in second place in the AL East, albeit by a half-game. They currently trail the rival-Yankees but could jump them with a win and a little good luck on Sunday night. In their last 15 games, they’ve gone 10-5 overall.
While both the offense and pitching staff are outstanding this year, their offense is really killing it. They currently have the most runs scored in the entire MLB and the second-best batting and slugging percentage. On the mound, they have the fifth-most quality starts and the ninth-best ERA and BAA.
On Sunday, they’ll send Rick Porcello to the hill to face Houston. It will be his 13th start of the season after going 7-2 with a 3.65 ERA in his first 12 outings.
Astros On Top Of West
The Houston Astros have been up and down over the last few weeks but still hold a small lead in the AL West standings. As of Saturday night, they hold a half-game lead over the second-place, but surging Mariners. Most recently, they Astros have gone 3-5 in their last eight games.
Like the Red Sox, the Astros also have above-average talent on their offense and pitching staff. The Astros have the best pitchers around with No. 1 ranks in ERA, quality starts, WHIP, and batting average allowed. On offense, they have the third-most runs scored and the fifth-best on-base percentage.
On Sunday, they’ll send Charlie Morton to the hill to face the Red Sox. Morton has a perfect 7-0 record in 11 starts to go along with an ERA of 2.26.
Trends:
BOS:
- 1-6 in their last 7 games vs. HOU.
HOU:
- 37-14 in their last 51 home games.

Betting-wise, you’ve gotta roll with the Astros. They’ll be at home in front of their loyal fanbase and have the better of the two arms on the hill. Plus, the Astros have owned the Sox lately.
