Los Angeles (3-1 SU, 2-2 ATS) looks to rebound from a humbling loss to Arizona when it visits Seattle (2-2, 2-2) on Thursday night for a key NFC West showdown. The Rams are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 games following a double-digit loss at home.

Opening Odds Analysis

Early action was heavy on the visiting Rams, moving LA up to a 2-point road favorite at many sites by Monday night. Bettors may also be noticing LA’s 6-0 run to the OVER, betting the total up to 54.5.

The Rams’ vaunted defense has been gashed for 911 yards and 61 points in the last two weeks, looking nothing like the unit that allowed the fewest yards and fewest points in the NFL last season.

After forcing a punt on Arizona’s first possession Sunday, LA allowed the Cards to score on seven of their next eight drives as the Rams went OVER the total for the sixth straight time dating back to last year.

The 37-20 loss was the Rams’ fifth loss by 17 or more points in coach Sean McVay’s five-year tenure in LA, but they tend to bounce back from those poor performances. In addition to going 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 games following a double-digit loss at home, the Rams are a sparkling 14-5-1 in their last 20 following a SU loss of more than 14 points and 6-1-2 ATS in their last nine after allowing at least 30 points.

Feature back Darrell Henderson could be a nice fantasy play this week if the Rams can stay committed to their ground attack. Henderson averaged 6.4 yards on his 14 carries against the Cardinals and also caught five of six targets for 27 yards, but LA abandoned the run game when it fell behind by three touchdowns in the third quarter.

The Seahawks avoided their first three-game losing streak in a decade by beating San Francisco 28-21 last week, but it was hardly a convincing performance from their offense.

Seattle was nearly doubled up in yards (457-234) and did not record a first down on any of its first five possessions on the way to going UNDER the total for the 10th time in its last 13 outings.

Quarterback Russell Wilson made the plays when he had to, throwing for two touchdowns and running for another despite having just 149 passing yards on the day. Wilson also took care of the football, remaining one of only two quarterbacks with 100 attempts who have yet to throw an interception this season.

Defensively, Seattle has had just three sacks in its last two weeks and could struggle to generate a pass rush against LA after losing Carlos Dunlap and Darrell Taylor to injury against the 49ers. The Seahawks have allowed more than 420 yards in each of their last three games after holding Indianapolis to 336 in the season opener.

Early Lean: Rams -2 over Seahawks
