The Oklahoma City Thunder became the first team to clinch a spot in the 2026 playoffs and remain the clear favorites to win the NBA Finals (+135) and Western Conference (-125). Oddsmakers and bettors alike are working the odds to see who in the West can possibly stop them.
San Antonio, led by virtual Defensive Player of the Year lock Victor Wembanyama (-1800), continues to make progress up the championship odds board, moving into the third position at +650, up from +750 a week prior and 60-1 before the campaign. BetMGM has taken wagers on the Spurs all season, including a recent $50,000 one at +650, to make them the sportsbook’s largest liability.
The biggest recent gainer in the Finals odds was the Los Angeles Lakers, who won nine out of 10 to move into third place in the Western Conference. Their recent surge puts them at 50-1 for the title, an improvement from 65-1 a week prior.
For San Antonio and Los Angeles to shorten, though, other West teams had to lengthen. Most notably, the Minnesota Timberwolves and Houston Rockets were 28-1 and 35-1 a week ago, respectively, and both moved to 40-1.
