The Eastern Conference semifinals get underway up in Beantown as a pair of Atlantic Division rivals take the hardwood. The third-seeded Philadelphia 76ers are on the road as they play Game 1 of their best of seven series against the second-seeded Boston Celtics Monday night.

Philadelphia won their first round series, four games to one, over sixth-seeded Miami after winning Game 5 104-91 at home last Tuesday. Boston survived their first round series with the seventh seeded Bucks, winning Game 7 112-96 at home to take the series, four games to three. The Celtics lead the all-time regular season series 258-186 and took three of four meetings this season: Philadelphia won the final meeting, 89-80, on the road on January 18. Boston has won 12 of the 20 playoff series and holds a 54-46 edge in playoff victories between the teams, that includes a seven game victory in the last matchup in the 2012 Eastern Conference semifinals.

Boston is going to be a bit worn down after going seven games with Milwaukee, especially with their banged up rotation. The Celtics came up big with their season hanging in the balance but how much do they have left in the tank? Philadelphia is rested and as long as they didn’t get rusty with the extra down time, they should be in good shape. The 76ers are a healthy group and they have the weapons to make any game a track meet, especially if the threes are falling. But the Celtics have a big edge at home.
