The Golden State Warriors and the Houston Rockets will battle it out one last time in this year’s Western Conference Finals on Monday night in what has been an epic best-of-seven showdown between the NBA’s top two teams. Tip-off for this Game 7 clash at the Toyota Center is set for 9 p.m. (ET) on TNT.

Golden State at Houston Game Overview

Point Spread:

Golden State -6.5 / Total:  207

The defending champions kept their chances for another NBA title alive on Saturday night with a 115-86 rout in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals as 12.5-point home favorites. The Warriors are now 8-1 straight-up at home in this year’s playoffs, but they will have to punch their ticket to a fourth-straight appearance in the NBA Finals with a win on the road this Monday night where they are 3-4 both SU and against the spread in the postseason. The total has stayed UNDER in five of those seven games.

Klay Thompson led all scorers on Saturday night with 35 points while going 9-for-14 from three-point range. Stephen Curry scored 29 points with a 12-for-23 shooting performance from the field, and Kevin Durant added 23 points to the winning cause. Golden State is averaging 109.6 points a game in the postseason, and it has eclipsed that average in seven of the last playoff games it has won.

With Chris Paul sidelined with an injured hamstring, the Rockets blew a chance to close this series out in Game 6. Down two games to one through the first three games of this epic showdown, the Rockets won Game 4 on the road by three points as 7.5-point underdogs. They gained their first edge in this series with a 98-94 victory in Game 6 as slight one-point home underdogs. The total has stayed UNDER the closing betting line in the last four games of this conference championship clash.

Paul remains questionable for Monday night, and his actual playing status before tip-off could have an impact on the closing betting spread. The current line suggests that he will not be in the lineup for Game 7 to dial up the pressure on James Harden as the top scorer on this team. Harden scored 32 points in Saturday night’s loss while the rest of the starters accounted for a combined 41 points. Gerald Green added 11 points off the bench, but the Rockets were outscored 64-25 in the second half after opening up a 10-point lead through the first two quarters.

Golden State at Houston Betting Trends

  • The Warriors have gone 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight Monday games, but they fall to 5-17 ATS in their previous 22 games coming off a straight up win. The total has stayed UNDER in five of their last six road games.
  • The Rockets are a perfect 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a SU loss, but they are 6-14 ATS in their previous 20 games against a team from the Pacific Division. The total has stayed UNDER in 16 of their last 23 games at home.
  • Head-to-head in this matchup, the home team has covered in four of the last five meetings, and the total has stayed UNDER in seven of the previous nine meetings in Houston.

Golden State at Houston OTL’S Prediction

If Paul cannot go, it is going to be hard for Houston to pull off the upset despite that fact that this deciding Game 7 is being played in the friendly confines of the Toyota Center. Even when both teams were at full strength, the total points scored remained much lower than these team’s cumulative scoring average in the postseason. The lean would be towards the UNDER but OTL’S Sources have a major Play on the side.
