PRE-SEASON OVER UNDER WIN TOTALS
A look at the projected season over under win totals for each team in the league from the pre-season.
OVER/UNDER WIN TOTALS BY TEAM
Arizona Cardinals: Over/Under
Cardinals season win total Over bettors are sitting pretty right now with Arizona at 8-1. The one pause for concern is that Arizona is playing in one of the toughest divisions in football, the NFC West.
Atlanta Falcons: Over/Under
The Falcons got younger by drafting TE Kyle Pitts at No. 4 overall and by promoting Calvin Ridley to the WR1 spot, but their offensive line and veteran quarterback have been overmatched early in the year. It’s shaping up to be a long season for Matt Ryan.
Baltimore Ravens: Over/Under
Lamar Jackson can only do so much with his legs and he’s facing the second-toughest schedule in the NFL this season according to 2020-21 win percentage. Baltimore has fared well in the early going, though, as they toppled the Chiefs and Chargers.
Buffalo Bills: Over/Under
The Bills established themselves as a serious Super Bowl contender in 2020, but came out flat in their home opener against the Steelers and also lost to the Jaguars. Still, the Bills figure to get double-digit wins.
Carolina Panthers: Over/Under
Over bettors were ecstatic with the start of the Panthers, who were one of the league’s surprise teams at 3-0. Two of those wins came against the dregs of the NFL, however, and Carolina – namely QB Sam Darnold – has regressed since.
Chicago Bears: Over/Under
Bears fans had been clamoring for it and they finally get to see Justin Fields on a full-time basis. Chicago’s defense is again strong, but they’ll need to start putting up more offensive points if they hope to make a late run at the postseason.
Cincinnati Bengals: Over/Under
Joe Burrow has worked his way back from a devastating knee injury and Ja’Marr Chase is an Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate. The Bengals thumped the Ravens in Baltimore to make themselves a potential contender, but then they lost to the lowly Jets and were whacked by the Browns.
Cleveland Browns: Over/Under
The Browns are sitting at 5-4, fresh off a dominant win over the Bengals. If they can topple the Patriots in Foxboro this Sunday, Cleveland will be well on its way to double-digit wins and another playoff berth.
Dallas Cowboys: Over/Under
New defensive coordinator Dan Quinn has breathed life into the Dallas D. Dak Prescott has not skipped a beat in his return from injury and the Cowboys look like the class of the NFC East.
Denver Broncos: Over/Under
Teddy Bridgewater has looked sharp when healthy, but this is clearly a team that will need to rely heavily on outstanding defensive efforts to garner more victories. It doesn’t help matters that the Chiefs, Raiders and Chargers are all legit playoff contenders.
Detroit Lions: Over/Under
Dan Campbell’s rag-tag crew looks like it will win the “Best Effort” award, but in terms of pure wins it’s going to be uphill sledding. Got to figure the morale on the team will wane the more these losses pile up.
Green Bay Packers: Over/Under
Green Bay defense is decent enough, but the Packers will only go as far as Aaron Rodgers takes them. That much was proven when Rodgers missed the Chiefs game in early November.
Houston Texans: Over/Under
The Texans have one win under their belt as they took down the equally bad Jaguars in Week 1. Getting victory No. 2 will prove difficult, although they will have a shot with the Jets and another one against the Jags still left on their schedule.
Indianapolis Colts: Over/Under
The Colts finally showed the full potential of their offense as they rang up 45 points on the Jets. Leading the way was the running back tag-team of Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines.
Jacksonville Jaguars: Over/Under
The Jaguars have surprisingly not quit on Urban Meyer after the head coach embarrassed the franchise early in the season. Jacksonville is now seeking win No. 3 and could get it with the Texans and Jets still left on their schedule.
Kansas City Chiefs: Over/Under
The Chiefs defense is nowhere close to championship caliber at the moment and Kansas City now has to deal with some legit teams in the AFC West as the Broncos, Chargers and Raiders are much improved.
Las Vegas Raiders: Over/Under
The Raiders had their first hiccup under Rich Bisaccia in a loss to the Giants. Las Vegas is 5-3 but doesn’t have too many cupcake games left on their 2021 slate.
LA Chargers: Over/Under
Justin Herbert has looked phenomenal when healthy and the Chargers proved they can bounce back from a poor performance as they beat the Eagles in Philly a week after falling at home to New England.
LA Rams: Over/Under
The Rams are a bully team, beating up on the leagues dregs but not exactly performing up to par when they face legit competition.
Miami Dolphins: Over/Under
The Dolphins had playoffs hopes going into the season but those are completely dashed after losses to some of the league’s fellow worst teams.
Minnesota Vikings: Over/Under
Kirk Cousins has been steady under center as he has a 16:2 TD-INT ratio on the season. But the Vikings can’t close out games, losing close contest after close contest.
New England Patriots: Over/Under
The Patriots suddenly have as many wins as the division leading Bills and a double-digit season is very much in reach. New England has the good fortune of having the Jaguars and Dolphins in Weeks 17 and 18.
New Orleans Saints: Over/Under
The Saints are a textbook Jekyll and Hyde team with wins over the Packers and Patriots and losses to the Panthers and Giants. Trevor Siemian and Taysom Hill are being tasked with trying to get the Saints into the playoffs.
New York Giants: Over/Under
Say this for Joe Judge. The Giants have not yet quit on him. Big Blue blasted Carolina in Week 7, nearly beat the Chiefs in Week 8, and just took down the Raiders.
New York Jets: Over/Under
The Mike White Hype Train went off the rails on Thursday Night Football as the Jets were blasted by the Colts in Indy. Robert Saleh’s defense will put up a fight from time-to-time, but most weeks they’re going continue to get beat.
Philadelphia Eagles: Over/Under
Howie Roseman looked like he raised the white flag on Philly’s season by trading longtime TE Zach Ertz in October. But a 44-6 road win over the Lions and a relatively easy upcoming schedule could at least make Eagles games interesting down the stretch.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Over/Under
The Steelers are about where most thought they’d be at this point in the season, owing a 5-3 record. Pittsburgh could very well have 6 wins soon as they have the Lions this weekend.
San Francisco 49ers: Over/Under
Stop if you’ve heard this before: the 49ers are banged up. San Francisco was everyone’s darling for bounceback team of the year but they have mostly underwhelmed so far this season. It won’t get any easier for Kyle Shanahan’s team as it attempts to navigate through the choppy NFC West waters.
Seattle Seahawks: Over/Under
For years the one sure thing in Seattle was that Russell Wilson would give you a good chance to win. Wilson has been injured recently but should be back this Sunday against the Packers.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Over/Under
It hasn’t been pretty, but the Buccaneers are sitting pretty at 6-2. More victories are on the way as they had a bye in Week 9, followed by games against the WFT, Giants, Colts and Falcons.
Tennessee Titans: Over/Under
The Titans are “Saints-lite” in terms of what you’re going to get on a week-to-week basis. Tennessee fell to the Jets but also beat the Bills, Chiefs and Rams.
Washington Football Team: Over/Under
Washington looks like a team that will take care of business against the league’s dregs but in terms of pulling off an upset against an elite unit? Not going to happen.
