WILL ROGERS DOWNS TUESDAY, APRIL 28th

RACE 1: A weak maiden race but FRESH ONE looks the most consistent of these on this year’s form at Turf Paradise. A runner-up the last twice, he gets the vote to open his account in this company. True Shipman, Therunawayrocket and Pray For Jake disappointed on their latest outings having posted better efforts before that and the latter has his first start since being gelded while I Dub Thee has had no luck with the draw. SELECTIONS: 7-3-5-2

RACE 2:
Race The Moon found only one too good here last time with Viscosity, Flooded, Tackson, Ima Sooners Fan and Sweettalkncandyman all finishing behind. But he’s drawn out wide for this along with Fearless Will, who takes a big drop down in class. DARING ARTAX hasn’t raced since last summer when scoring at Fair Meadows in July but a repeat of that effort should see him go close on his return and David Cabrera is a positive jockey booking. SELECTIONS: 5-9-4-2

RACE 3:
Dramacide missed out by only a neck in a similar maiden race over 6f here last time but has yet to run over this far. November Mike finished behind the former and has been gelded since while the latter’s stablemate Centergee also placed over 6f on his debut and is another subsequently gelded. Bug Zapper and What Thinking finished further behind Dramacide but WILLY SPECIAL CATS is proven over trip having been beaten less than a length when third over course and distance earlier in the month and Karl Broberg’s charge may be the one to side with. SELECTIONS: 1-2-4-3

RACE 4:
Handsome Traveler ran poorly when sent off favourite here last time though Floyd Wethey still prefers him to stablemate and recent winner Elijah Anet. Covington Quality drops in class but has no easy task drawn on the outside along with Cruisin Cue, who beat N C C Jack here at this time last year. MICKEY THE MOOCHER returned to action with an easy success here in March and found only one too good last time. The winner has subsequently gone in again so the form looks solid and another bold bid is expected.
SELECTIONS: 4-6-9

RACE 5:
West Coast Broker has a shout on a recent third here but that was over a shorter trip and he’s yet race over this far. WHISKEY FACTOR looks a safer bet returning to a claimer after a couple of decent efforts in straight maiden company over course and distance and should find life easier at this level representing the meets leading trainer. Gold Note has placed over a mile in the past while Gone Dancing is closely matched with Far Left on recent running over track and trip. SELECTIONS: 6-7-2-9

RACE 6:
None of these have looked like winning so far but a couple drop down in class. Soul Temptation arrives from Oaklawn and should finish closer but a token vote goes to TAGGART, who faces his easiest task so far dropping into a claimer for the first time. Test The Water disappointed when tried at this lower level last time while Shawn Again has an outside draw to contend with.
SELECTIONS: 4-6-9-5

RACE 7:
Scott Young’s leading yard is represented by both Mighty Vision and Juliard Honor though regular stable jockey Floyd Wethey rides Star Prado. The latter is preferred to stable companion Dakamo Rose though has something to find with HALLIES DREAM on latest running and it’s James Helzer’s filly that gets the vote having been beaten only a neck here last time when caught close home. Ty Kennedy’s presence on R Lukki Song takes the eye and the newcomer is worth a second glance.
SELECTIONS: 3-5-9-2

RACE 8:
Gato Guapo has the form to figure but has drawn wide and Ty Kennedy sticks with progressive stablemate MILTONTOWN (NAP). The latter landed a double in allowance company when stepped up to today’s trip last time and should go close again for Robertino Diodoro’s in-form yard. Vangilder won a stakes race at Albuquerque last year but hasn’t raced since September while Grade One has the form to figure at this level. Eagle Pass beat Gold Buyer and Gentrified in a handicap here recently though the latter was sent off favourite and better is expected in this. SELECTIONS: 1-6-7-9

WILL ROGERS DOWNS TUESDAY, APRIL 28th
RACE 9:
WELDER is the one to beat in the feature race. He notched-up a hat-trick of victories in stakes races at Remington last autumn and the return from a lay-off is not a worry given Theresa Luneack’s charge won on the back of a three-month absence last year. Rockport Kat will be sharper for a recent comeback and has won in stakes company before and the same comments also apply to Fly To The Bank. Shannon C is upped in class but is in good form and makes most appeal of the remainder. SELECTIONS: 2-6-7

RACE 10: WAY TOO CUTE
was placed at Turf Paradise in tougher claimers than this earlier in the year and a similar effort should see her bang there at the finish. Madison’s Place won a maiden before finishing third in this grade ahead of Flat Out Phat and is another to consider but Hope And A Dream has struggled in three subsequent starts since opening her account. Whimsical Tale also needs to improve but has the scope to do so for one of the meets leading trainers. SELECTIONS: 3-5-7-8
