BEST BETS:
Race 4: #6 SAND DRIFT
Race 5: #3 POSEIDONS PRINCESS
Race 9: #3 EL TORMENTA

Bet Top Horse Across the Board each race.
Bet Exacta Boxes Top 3 Horses.
Trifecta Boxes are up to you

Race 1: Sweet Giant finished ahead of Traffic Trouble and Jack Beanstalk when runner-up from a wide draw here last month and the latter has since gone close. Dramatic Kitten has drawn high after also finding one too good over track and trip ahead of Took A Cab and that could hand the advantage to MAYITO. Saffie Joseph’s charge has placed in four of his five outings so far and can come good in this taking a further drop in class.
SELECTIONS: 10-5-1-2

Horse Racing Picks: Gulfstream Park Race 2: Wesley Ward is renowned for speedy two-year-old runners and his Nyquist colt BREAKTHROUGH could prove the one to side with in a field of newcomers. The latter recorded a bullet workout earlier in the week while Todd Pletcher runs two with the $420,000 purchase Restored Order preferred to Hyperfocus. Ziggy and Cobb represent an in-form yard as does Full Send, who has shown good pace in recent breezes at the track. SELECTIONS: 4-9-5-6

Horse Racing Picks: Gulfstream Park Race 3: Cat Lady has strong claims on earlier placed efforts from a wide draw but disappointed here last time without an apparent excuse and a chance is taken on stablemate KAHIKO. Todd Pletcher’s filly will need to show further progress but improved on her latest start and there looks more to come. Dur A Cuire is another drawn out wide with a chance on her best form while both By His Grace and Chouchou De Boo went close in maiden claimers last month.
SELECTIONS: 6-5-12-11

Horse Racing Picks: Gulfstream Park Race 4: Too Much War held on by only a head when making all over track and trip last time while Blame The Gods also scored here in March but is drawn on the outside today. Get Rewarded won a less valuable claimer here last month while Algodonal never threatened the winner when third on her latest start but Dana Grace showed signs of a return to form back on the Turf on her latest start. SAND DRIFT has notched-up a frustrating run of placed efforts since winning here last summer but is having only her second outing of the year having ran well again on her reappearance and she gets the vote representing Saffie Joseph’s leading yard.
SELECTIONS: 6-8-10-1

Horse Racing Picks: Gulfstream Park Race 5: None of those with experience inspire much confidence and recent third Impression Given has had no luck with the draw. Socially Astray ran better over track and trip last time before folding tamely in the closing stages while both Lola Wants and Capeline drop in class but this won’t take much winning and the newcomer POSEIDONS PRINCESS gets a speculative vote. Her yard is in decent form and she’s partnered by the meets leading jockey in Luis Saez.
SELECTIONS: 3-10-5-9

Horse Racing Picks: Gulfstream Park  Race 6: STRONG HEADED was beaten less than a length over track and trip last month despite an outside draw and is taken to go one better in this and confirm latest running with Stonecastle in the process. Reconvene finished in front of Eagles Palace when fourth on his reappearance but has been done no favours by the draw and Riggins is preferred with improvement expected on the back of a modest debut effort. Call Curt has been thereabouts in both starts so far but that was over 5f. SELECTIONS: 8-11-4-12

Horse Racing Picks: Gulfstream Park Race 7: Several return from lay-offs including maiden winner American Tap and Afficionado, who won twice in France last year and debuts for a new trainer. Fast Scene won a stakes races in 2019 and has every chance if ready for action but Compensate has drawn high today after finishing runner-up here in March ahead of third-placed FOOLISH HUMOR. The latter has the more favourable draw on this occasion and is taken to turn the tables with Irad Ortiz doing the steering.
SELECTIONS: 5-3-1-2

Horse Racing Picks: Gulfstream Park Race 8: LOUIE’S KINGDOM has been competing in tougher claimers than this since winning a maiden. He’s switched to Larry Rivelli’s yard after an outing on the Turf and should go close in this company back on the main track. Assertiko also drops in class but Road To Peace has struggled since recording a maiden success and it remains to be seen how Cat Gone Quick copes racing outside of maiden company for the first time. SELECTIONS: 5-7-9-3

Horse Racing Picks: Gulfstream Park Race 9 : This feature race looks wide-open though Admission Office and War Of Will have been done favours by the draw. Todd Pletcher has a strong hand represented by both Halladay and the recent Grade 3 winner Social Paranoia but a chance is taken on EL TORMENTA (NAP) returning to form. He finished well behind Social Paranoia here when drawn out wide on his reappearance but it’s hard to get away from last year’s surprise victory in the Grade 1 Woodbine Mile and Gail Cox’s charge has leading claims on that form. Aquaphobia could go well with Irad Ortiz taking over the reins and Hawkish had bits of form at this level last year.
SELECTIONS: 3-4-6-9

Race 10: BATTLE OF BLENHEIM finished in front of Honey Won’t, Sublime Appeal and Basha when runner-up here last time. That looks the strongest form on offer and he’s reunited with winning partner Irad Ortiz for this. Maiden winner Gray’s Fable is upped in class but Counter Offer will be sharper for a recent comeback run while Jay’s Way and War Giant will only race if this switches to the main track. SELECTIONS: 6-11-3-9

Race 11: I’LL FIGHT DEMPSEY faded in the closing stages over 7f here last time but the return to this shorter trip will suit and the Pletcher colt gets the vote dropping down in class. Tap It To Win was aimed high last year after winning a maiden at Saratoga but may just need this first outing since October while Cryogenic and R Mercedes Boy have both placed at this level with preference for the former. More Than Striking was progressing well before disappointing last time while Hauntedbythemusic and Whiskey Sunrise are maiden winners with plenty of scope. SELECTIONS: 4-7-3-8

Race 12: Peppi The Hunter has switched yards once again having beaten Dexter Road by four lengths here last month. The latter has subsequently finished second ahead of Trappezoid but was well behind THE QUEENS JULES when Monica McGoey’s charge scored over course and distance in March. He’s been beaten on the Turf subsequently but is taken to confirm earlier superiority with Mr Chaplin back on this surface. Starship Apollo has drawn wide and has yet to win over this far. SELECTIONS: 6-10-3-9

Tampa Bay Downs

BEST BETS:
Race 3: #3 Zitman
Race 8: #9 Fast Fire

Race 10: #5 DREAMING OF PARIS

Bet Top Horse Win/Place each race.
Exacta Boxes with Top 3 Horses.

Race 1: Red Hot Looks stopped as if shot here last month but that run was obviously needed. He won twice last year at Presque Isle Downs and better is expected today. Seventysevenwilow is another likely to have been brought forward by an outing last month but he has more than six lengths to find with BETWEENHEREANDCOOL and Kathleen Guciardo’s veteran is fancied to rack up victory number 21. Americano appears to be back on song and could provide the main threat, despite the outside berth.
SELECTIONS: 2-7-8-10

Race 2: Tiz Approved was very green at Oaklawn Park in February but much more the finished article here in March when making all and winning by nine lengths. It would be no surprise to see a follow up from stall one but Highwaytwentyseven also won here in March, though didn’t quite reproduce that effort on a return visit. Sindarius is only 1-16 but probably ran better than expected when third two weeks ago, though that was over a mile. RED NATION got involved in early skirmishing over 5f here last time and was eased. He’d showed a good attitude when scoring over track and trip at the start of the year and this is a slight drop in grade.
SELECTIONS: 5-1-3-6

Race 3: Nothing went right for ZITMAN (NAP) when he only failed by a head to overhaul The Stifler over track and trip last month. Raul Mena’s mount is a confident selection to reverse that form and again beat Dox Folly. Slick as Ice looks held on the form book but Honest to Goodness is running well at present and shouldn’t be far away again. Whistle Me Home is preferred to Fourth Design of the remainder. SELECTIONS: 3-8-5-7

Race 4: Switching from Fair Grounds, Atlas Moon has a bit to prove having been pulled up when last seen. The booking of Antonio Gallardo is a positive, however, and he has the past form to figure. HAY HAY MY MY is even more exposed but Maria Bowersock’s gelding is a consistent sort at this level and could finally get his head in front granted luck in-running as he had Mozano four lengths behind last month. Overpraise has hinted at ability and looks best of the rest. SELECTIONS: 10-5-7-9

Race 5: Despite failing to place, SUNSET EMPIRE has been pretty consistent this year and can take advantage of this big drop in class and a rails draw. Rattlesnakerose won twice over course and distance at the start of the year, beating Lil B Quick on the latter occasion, but she’s not run up to that form in her last two starts and was behind Mz. Foo Do in March and Alluring Approval last month. Lil B Quick beat several of these here in March but that was probably a bit of a fluke with R Sweet Exchange more likely to run her race today. SELECTIONS: 1-6-2-5

Race 6: Cholla won a better race here at the end of January. She hasn’t quite run up to that form since but it will be a surprise if she finishes out of the frame today. Anditsafact has won three times since last racing here more than a year ago while Crown of Joy has probably needed her two runs this year. Cocktail Skirt hinted at a revival over track and trip last month but I Dream of Lois is best watched following a modest reappearance. Unabridged, formerly with Ger Lyons, and COLONELS DAUGHTER can fight out the finish of this. Both were ill-at-ease on Dirt last time but Juan Carlos Avila’s mare is fancied to put a poor run behind her by getting the best of the argument.
SELECTIONS: 4-2-6-7

Race 7: DARK WEB hasn’t been beaten far the last twice and his turn may have come around in this. Expensive Style was behind last time but had placed in his previous five starts so is no mug. Impressive Speed placed on debut over 6f last month but none of the others with experience have shown much so the newcomers Prepare for Glory, bought for $50,000 last year, and Evidence could play a part if ready. SELECTIONS: 4-3-9-1

Race 8: Projected won four times for Andre Fabre. He was later successful in a Grade 2 in the States and made a winning start for new connections here six days ago so has to go on the shortlist. Having split Dazzling Truths and Exchequer here in January, On a Spree was only beaten a head by Americandy in February and went one better last month. FAST FIRE reversed earlier running with Bourbon Extension when successful in March. The War Chant gelding never seems to run a bad race and won’t be fazed by a wide draw.
SELECTIONS: 9-5-10-3

Race 9: R NEXT ROLL has had another short break but her overall form looks head and shoulders above that of today’s opposition and Georgina Baxter’s mare is entitled to start a short-priced favourite. Animauxselle’s latest second to Kwaina was probably a step forward and she may be the one for forecast-backers. Only a neck separated Kupuri and Celestial Orb in the race won by Burkey’s Babe last month when U Know I B Lion was a disappointing favourite while Sold On Salsa has placed three times this year, though the form is nothing special. SELECTIONS: 5-9-8-6

Race 10: It’s possible that Dynaformer is better than she’s shown so far. The Constitution filly Forevernoa missed the break on her debut but Natoma’s progress stalled here last month, though that was on Dirt. The Congrats newcomer Whiskey Song is Christophe Clement’s only runner on today’s card so warrants a market check but DREAMING OF PARIS bettered her Fair Grounds form, despite being trapped wide here in February, and she should more than pay her way in the months and years ahead.
SELECTIONS: 5-4-9-10
