With the regular season winding down and Championship Saturday in two weeks, what’s the situation in each conference? 


American Athletic Conference

Date: Saturday, December 1
Game Time: 12:00 ET
Venue: To Be Determined
Network: ABC

East Champion: UCF

West Champion: (Prediction – Memphis)

The game is played on the home field of the team with the better record.

– Houston takes the West by winning at Memphis.
– Memphis wins the West by beating Houston.
– SMU is out after all the tie-breaking scenarios.
– Tulane is out after losing to SMU and Houston, even if it finishes in a four-way tie.
– If Houston, Memphis, SMU and Tulane all finish 5-3 in the East, after breaking through all the tie-breaking scenarios, it would come down to the Memphis head-to-head-win over Houston.


ACC

Date: Saturday, December 1
Game Time: 8:00 ET
Venue: Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, NC
Network: ABC

Atlantic Champion: Clemson

Coastal Champion: Pitt


Big 12

Date: Saturday, December 1
Game Time: 12:00 ET

Prediction: West Virginia vs. Texas

– Top two teams in the Big 12 standings play for the title.
– Oklahoma is in with a win at West Virginia.
– If West Virginia beats Oklahoma and Texas wins at Kansas, Oklahoma is out, and it’s West Virginia vs. Texas.
– West Virginia is in with a win over Oklahoma, or a loss and a Texas loss to Kansas and an Iowa State loss to Kansas State.
– Texas is in with a win over Kansas and an Oklahoma win over West Virginia.


Big Ten

Date: Saturday, December 1
Game Time: TBD
Venue: Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, IN
Network: FOX

East Champion: Michigan vs. Ohio State winner

West Champion: Northwestern


Conference USA

Date: Saturday, December 1
Game Time: 1:30 ET

Network: CBS Sports Network

East Champion: (Prediction – UCF)

West Champion: UAB

– UAB has clinched the West.
– If there’s a three-way tie for the East, and FIU, Marshall and Middle Tennessee all go 6-2, Middle Tennessee goes after all the tie-breakers because of the head-to-head win over Marshall.
– FIU is in by beating Marshall. It’s in if it loses and Middle Tennessee loses to UAB.
– Middle Tennessee is in if it beats UAB and FIU loses to Marshall.


Independents

There is no independent championship game – obviously. BYU, Notre Dame and Army are all bowl eligible.


MAC

Date: Friday, November 30
Game Time: 7:00 ET
Venue: Ford Field, Detroit, MI
Network: ESPN2

East Champion: (Prediction – Buffalo)

West Champion: Northern Illinois

– In a three-way tie between Buffalo, Miami University and Ohio, if they all finish 6-2, Ohio is in based on the head-to-head win over MU after all of the other tie-breakers.
– Buffalo is in if it wins at Bowling Green.
– Ohio is in if it beats Akron, Buffalo loses at Bowling Green, and Miami University loses to Ball State.

Mountain Champion: Utah State vs. Boise State winner

West Champion: Fresno State

– ULM wins the West if it beats Louisiana and Arkansas State loses at Texas State.
