When it comes to NFL Picks & futures betting we cashed in a ton of winning tickets for our clients last season. This year will be no different. Our NFL Picks for the Steelers went 10-3 ATS last year betting on or against them. So we have a pretty good handle of when the Steelers will cover and when they won’t. As far as NFL Futures Picks we lean towards OVER 10.5 Total Wins!
The first thing that jumps out to me as I glance over the Steelers’ schedule, is that at the halfway point of their season, in following their week 7 bye with a home game vs. the Browns, there is a decent chance that Pittsburgh is undefeated. With only three away games on the first half of the schedule, vs. teams with 13 wins combined last year (Browns, Bucs, and Bengals), and home games in which they’re currently favored by 7, 6, 4 and 10.5 respectively at CG Technology, a flawless record would be far from miraculous. Of course, they’d have to pull off a pick’em game in Baltimore, so let’s say for the sake of analysis they lose that game and finish the first half of the season 7-1.
The second half of the season is no cakewalk for Pittsburgh, though, and coming up with another 4-wins sounds easily achievable until you look closely at their remaining opponents and some of the travel spots nestled throughout. Getting the wins at home vs. Carolina and the Bengals are probable -especially the Bengals game – so nine wins is very reasonable.
They’ll then have to come up with two more wins out of the remaining games with road games against the Jags and Saints, and a week 15 matchup with the Patriots, all very tough games. Say the Steelers lose those three, the question then becomes whether Pittsburgh can win two games out of the three remaining: two on the road out west in Oakland (-3.5) and Denver (-3) and the one at home vs the Chargers (-4.5). Judging by the spreads, odds are they will win these games, but Pittsburgh is a team with a perennially distinct home/road dichotomy, and I’m not always so confident in the Steelers on the road. 10.5 appears to be a solid number as you can see, and it remains at 10.5 for a reason.

As many hits a Roethlisberger takes and as fragile his health appears to be at times, he always seems finds a way to take the field more often than not, and throughout his 14-year career he’s played at least 11 games in every season and at least 15 in 8 of 14 seasons. This offense is as potent of one as you’ll find in the NFL, with LeVeon Bell franchise-tagged, Antonio Brown in his prime, and 2nd round draft pick WR James Washington coming to town to join JuJu Smith-Schuster as another potential second round steal. Even without Shazier, this is a top-10 defense under DC Keith Butler, and in terms of culture, they are a team that has made a habit out of winning.
